Hello, welcome to my practice.
I’m Aparna Sengupta — a RCI Board Licensed Clinical & Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist based in Navi Mumbai.
I’m here to hold space for healing—gently, respectfully, and at your pace.
At the heart of my therapeutic work is the belief that healing begins in a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate environment where growth can unfold naturally, and where each person is met with compassion and care. Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals across a range of backgrounds, challenges, and life transitions. I’ve witnessed the power of a well-held therapeutic space—one that fosters long-term change.
Outside of the therapy room, I value stillness and the simple act of slowing down. Sometimes, doing nothing is exactly what I need—and I deeply believe in the importance of rest and unstructured time. When the mood strikes, I enjoy getting lost in a good book or immersing myself in a meaningful movie or series, especially ones that explore complex human characters and layered storylines. I like being surrounded by nature. Whether it’s a quiet walk or simply being outdoors, nature helps me slow down, reset, and reconnect. These quiet moments help me stay present, balanced, and better connected to the work I do.
My approach to therapy is eclectic and integrative, which means that I draw from different styles based on what suits you best. It is grounded in evidence-based practices, while remaining deeply attuned to the unique needs of each individual.
I draw from a range of modalities including trauma-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), somatic techniques, mindfulness, acceptance and self-compassion practices, clinical hypnosis, and art-based interventions. This holistic, client-centred approach allows me to support clients in a way that is both structured and deeply personal.
Whether you are experiencing internal conflict, navigating trauma, struggling with anxiety, depression, or stress, or simply seeking greater clarity and emotional balance, therapy with me is going to be a collaborative journey, rooted in self-awareness and trust. I believe every individual carries within them the capacity for resilience, healing, and growth, and my role is to gently facilitate and support that journey at a pace that feels right for you, while helping to hold the weight of what’s difficult.
I hold a Master’s degree from University of Mumbai and an RCI board licensed M.Phil. from Amity University, Mumbai.
I have pursued additional specialized training in Trauma focussed therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through EMDR Asia, as well as Advanced Psychotherapy & Clinical Hypnotherapy with the Milton H. Erickson Foundation, Arizona, USA.
Over the years, I have gained work experience across a variety of clinical and rehabilitation settings in Mumbai, including MGM Medical College, Vashi, LTMC Hospital, Sion, and many more. I have had the opportunity to work with diverse clients in both individual and group therapy formats, conducting psychological assessments, workshops, and therapeutic interventions tailored to their needs.
Alongside clinical work, I have served as a clinical supervisor at Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and as a faculty at MGM Medical College, Vashi, and R.J. College, Ghatkopar, supporting the next generation of mental health professionals. I have also worked with TISS and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to enhance the Tele-manas helpline, aimed at expanding mental health support accessibility in India.
My academic interests have led to publications such as exploring mental distress in skin conditions, quality of life in depression, understanding mindfulness levels in nursing professionals.
